It's Not Just for Strippers Anymore (But How Do You Explain That to Your Kid's Friends)

Hey there fellow moms, have you ever had that awkward moment when your kid's friends come over and see your pole in the living room, and then the rumor mill starts turning? Yeah, me too. So, I'm an aerialist, and I use my pole for exercise and artistic expression. But apparently, my son's friends think it's a stripper pole. And now my poor kiddo is facing the ridicule and judgment of his peers. Kids can be so cruel, am I right?

Now, I know that pole fitness is a legitimate form of exercise, and I'm not here to shame the industry or the women who work in it. But it's not exactly the image I want associated with my living room décor, you know?

On the one hand, I want to teach my son to have thick skin and not let other people's opinions get to him. But on the other hand, it's tough seeing him being teased for something that's not even true. And let's be real, as moms, we've got enough to worry about without adding this to the list!

So, fellow moms, how do you handle it when your kid thinks your pole is a stripper pole? Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation? And is this even a big deal in today's world, or are we just dealing with a bunch of old-fashioned folks?

As an aerialist and a mom, I'm navigating uncharted territory here, but I'm confident that with your support and advice, we can come up with a plan to set the record straight. Let's show those kiddos that pole fitness is no joke and have a laugh while we're at it!
